Project summary
As global energy demand grows, so too does demand for more resilient grid infrastructure. Every year, thousands of tons of heavy transmission cable are hauled from point to point to expand and reinforce the electrical grid. With such heavy loads, and tough duty cycles, the transport of these materials comes with a high cost—in both fuel prices and GHG emissions. Prysmian Netherlands, the world leading cable manufacturer based in Delft transports close to 65,000 tons of goods per year. Recognizing the ambitious climate goals of the E.U. and the importance of reducing emissions across supply chains, Prysmian has supercharged its own global ambition through piloting electric heavy-duty trucks in their operations.
