Project summary

LAX—Los Angeles International Airport—is one of the most heavily trafficked airports in the world, with millions of travelers passing through the Golden State every year. Along with people, the airport is a hub for transportation of all kinds, from shuttles, rideshares, and rental cars, to air cargo, drayage, and other freight operations. With California’s regulatory landscape rapidly evolving, drivers and fleet operators are looking for innovative ways to meet state goals to cut costs and emissions. Enter Zeem Solutions, a full-service fleet electrification solution provider. Founded in 2017, Zeem builds, develops, and operates shared EV charging infrastructure that helps fleets reduce operating costs while meeting sustainability goals and government mandates. Zeem offers value-add solutions for fleets to seamlessly transition to electric by facilitating daily EV fleet operations management. Zeem’s mission is to expand the supportive infrastructure network for fleets through co-located depots, shared charging, and in-yard infrastructure. In 2024, Zeem finalized the commissioning of its first fully operational charging hub at LAX. With a whopping 7.5MW interconnection, supporting 78 DC fast-chargers, and 53 AC ports. The shared charging depot has already executed over 155,000 charging sessions in its first year of operation. Keep reading to learn more about how they did it.
