Clean Commercial Transportation Update: July 24, 2020

Following last week’s discussion on the Advanced Clean Truck rule, we focused this week on global and local infrastructure policies that will go hand-on-hand with ACT. After this week’s clean transportation news updates, we heard from CALSTART’s Global Commercial Vehicle Drive To Zero‘s Global Director Cristiano Façanha on updates from around the world. Specifically we heard from Sweden from Magnus Berntsson, Vice President of the Regional Council Västra Götalandsregionen and President of the Assembly of European Regions (AER); Per Österström, Manager Automotive and Transport for Business Region Göteborg; and Gustaf Zettergren, Environmental Manager/Head of Department for Västra Götalandsregionen. (Watch the full interview here.)

We rounded out the half hour segment with a conversation with California Energy Commission‘s Advisor to Commissioner Patty Monahan, Ben De Alba, on investing in infrastructure and preparing for the Advanced Clean Truck (ACT) rule. Special guest Jacqueline Moorefrom the Port of Long Beach joined us to give perspective from the drayage trucks perspective.

Be sure to tune in next week as we talk about connected and autonomous transportation and will hear from our Midwest office about projects in that region.
